Mel Savary

I’m Melissa Savary, a Quebec creator based in Sherbrooke.

My head was always filled with stories of monsters and misunderstood creatures. I studied theatre, visual arts and journalism before settling on a career in communication for the non-profit sector. After 10 years working with various NGOs, in Canada and overseas, I had an irresistible urge to take the brush again and give life to these creatures on paper. Tell their stories.

Simultaneously, I moved on from 9 to 5 and started freelancing as a writer and translator. When I’m not painting or writing, you can find me jogging through the woods looking for inspiration…and owls.
